The Kewaunee County Comet exists to provide a digital local and independent news source for Kewaunee County, Wisconsin, on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.

The goal is to become the county’s best option for local news, events and activities. The news will be shared here, on social media, and in a daily email.

Who am I? Always a good question. I’ve been reporting community news for more than 40 (!) years at various venues around the Badger State – first in radio news, and the past two decades in the print/digital media, and have settled just north of the Door-Kewaunee county line. That’s right, I don’t actually live in Kewaunee County, but I can see my Kewaunee County neighbors from my front porch.

Because I care about those neighbors and I love community news, I decided to launch this little endeavor, at first calling it the Kewaunee County Aggregator. As of Feb. 8, 2017, we launched the permanent name and website, the Kewaunee County Comet.

And who is “we”? As we begin our venture, we are volunteer journalist Warren Bluhm and I.T. guy Todd Lohenry, without whose fine work developing the plumbing this site would just be another lonely outpost along a vast digital highway. Todd’s specialty is helping people get found online, and you can find all sorts of grand advice by checking him out.

Look around, kick the tires, follow us, subscribe to the email, and otherwise give us a look! We’ll be doing our best to make it worth your while.
