ComedyCity Improv of De Pere – the longest-running comedy club in Northeast Wisconsin – is coming to Algoma for a 7 p.m. performance Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Algoma Performing Arts Center, 514 Fremont St.
Proceeds from this event will be given to the Algoma School District Destination Imagination Program and the Algoma Performing Arts Center.
Started more than 25 years ago, ComedyCity Improv is a troupe of improvisational comedy performers that stage four shows a week at their home theater, the Green Room Lounge in De Pere. Because it’s improvisation, you never see the same show twice.
From the troupe’s website:
What can I expect? We don’t force audience members to come on stage or anything like that. We do ask our audiences to participate, shout out suggestions when we ask for them (i.e. “What’s your favorite lunch meat?”) that we incorporate into scenes, songs, and sketches, and occasionally we ask for volunteers to join us.
Tickets for the family-friendly Algoma show are $7 and available at the Algoma branches of Nicolet National Bank, 205 Clark St., and the Bank of Luxemburg, 510 Second St. or 514 Fifth St.
