Four out of five Luxemburg-Casco athletes who competed won their matches at the state wrestling tournament in Madison on Thursday night and will be back on the mats Friday.

Luxemburg-Casco’s Nathan Ronsman advanced at 132 pounds with a 9-2 decision of Jordan Bonte of Baldwin-Woodville.

Devan Vandenbush (152) earned a 9-0 major decision over Dalton Smith of Stanley-Boyd/Owen-Withee.

Reece Worachek (160) defeated Gaven Lisowe of Chilton/Hilbert by a 9-1 major decision.

Austin Leroy (195) lost a 17-6 decision to Matt Hanke of Lomira.

Nate Lloyd (220) pinned Colten Wall of Prairie du Chien at 5:54.

Spartans who had first-round byes and will begin to wrestle Friday morning include Lucas Joniaux (106), Bryce Bosman (126), and Colton Worachek (145).

In Division 3, Kewaunee’s Jack Severin (120) and Cam Hanrahan (132) had byes on Thursday night. Travis Reinke (170) wrestled to a 4-2 decision over Justin Malean of Boyceville to reach Friday’s quarterfinals.

The state semi-finals are Friday night and championship matches are Saturday at the Kohl Center.
