Literacy Partners of Kewaunee County Inc. has scheduled an orientation session for 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, for people interested in helping local residents improve their reading, writing and speaking skills.
Tutors don’t need to have a teaching background, only the desire to help their neighbors, organizers say.
Literacy Partners is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of area residents through literacy. More than 50 excited tutors, a dedicated board of directors, and committed supporters have seen the tremendous impact of the literacy effort since its inception in 2006.
The orientation session is followed by followup training sessions on March 7, 9 and 23. All meetings are held at the United Methodist Church, 804 Parker Ave., Algoma.
Call Bob (920-676-2061) for more details and to register for orientation. More information is also available at the organization’s website, literacykewauneeco.org.
