Two squads of veterans from American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 of Luxemburg will visit about two dozen cemeteries in and around Kewaunee County on Monday morning, to offer their respects in a brief ceremony and firing squad salute to the veterans at rest there.
The groups will reunite for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bank of Luxemburg’s Veterans Memorial, followed by a gathering at the Community Center for a short Memorial Day program.
Casco Post 319 has similar plans, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and concluding with a 10 a.m. Mass at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church and an 11 a.m. service at the Veterans Memorial.
Algoma Memorial Day observances begin with a 10 a.m. parade from Algoma Public Library to Legion Park, where a Memorial Day ceremony will be held.
The Forestville American Legion Post 372 will conduct the Memorial Day Service at the Misere Cemetery at 7:50 a.m. Sunday.
