Parallel 44 Vineyard & Winery has scheduled a 10-year anniversary celebration for noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the facility at N2185 Sleepy Hollow Road west of Kewaunee.
The description at the winery’s website:
Starting a winery, in the heart of beer country, in 2007 was considered to be a novel venture. Wisconsin was known for beer, not wine and surely not for grape growing. Owners Steve and Maria, however, envisioned this area in Northeast Wisconsin as the next great wine region in the world.
This year marks the 10th year that Parallel 44 Vineyard & Winery has been producing wines on the Frozen Tundra. To celebrate this milestone and thank our loyal customers for their support over the past decade we are throwing a 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on July 8 from noon 6 p.m.
The event features Parallel 44 and Door 44’s locally grown world class wine and live music by Big Mouth & the Power Tool Horns, and two other local bands.
A $6 wine sampling includes five samples and a commemorative 10th anniversary glass. Guided wagon tours with the winemaker are scheduled every half-hour from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Local companies Ron’s Cheese, Saxon Creamery and Wakker Cheese are providing cheese sampling. Food will also be available for purchase from the Booyah Shed and Monzu Bakery.
