A proposal to reroute the Ice Age Trail through the city of Algoma is the subject of a special meeting Tuesday.

One of the Ice Age trailheads is located on the Ahnapee State Trail in Algoma, and the idea is that changing the route could make it easier for locals and visitors alike to access and enjoy all the trail has to offer.

A proposed Designated Bicycle and Walking Route through the neighborhood aims to connect the Ahnapee State Trail with the downtown business district and the lakefront parks and attractions in Algoma.

Residents and business owners are invited to attend the Community Feedback Session from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Algoma Boat Club, 180 Sixth St., Algoma.

Visitors will be able to see maps of the project and get information about the Ice Age Trail, the Ahnapee State Trail, and how this project came to be. There will also be a number of people available to answer questions about the project. This is an opportunity to provide feedback about the plan before the group seeks approval from the City Council.
