Rob Burke re-introduced himself to the Kewaunee County Board this week. Burke, who has been with the University of Wisconsin-Extension office in Door County for 15 years, started in July as the area director of UWEX for Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties, as part of Extension’s reorganization.

“One of the major things I’m supposed to do in that job is serve as much as I can as department head in all three counties, so I can free up the Extension agents that are in your county to do more programming with the people and communities,” Burke said, “so you’ll be seeing me here attending your meetings with the Ag & Extension Committee, and whenever you need me or need to ask me a question, I’m really available and can get here pretty quickly,” if that’s needed.

Burke has been a part of Exension since 1998, when he was hired as community education coordinator in Oconto County, and came to the Door County office in 2002. He has played an active role in organizing the biannual Door-Kewaunee Legislative Days initiative.
