The Violence Intervention Project holds its fifth annual Lighting Ceremony from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, State Highway 42, Kewaunee.

Participants plan to light 57 Chinese lanterns in memory of each life ended in Wisconsin by domestic violence in 2016.

Complimentary booyah and hot chocolate will be served inside after the ceremony.

VIP was formed to provide safety and supportive services to diverse men, women and children affected by domestic violence and sexual assault in Kewaunee County.

The organization operates a transitional living shelter, supervised visitation and exchange services, and other programs designed to raise awareness and reduce domestic violence.
