Note: The original version of this story said the game itself was in Algoma. It’s at Kewaunee.

Kewaunee High School is celebrating both the War on the Shore and the return to classrooms Friday afternoon.

The school is hosting a “Back to School Tailgate” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the KHS Fitness Center, offering free food, drinks, music and games.

Students, staff and family members are invited. Then everyone heads over to the football stadium for the “War on the Shore” game against Algoma High School.

Kewaunee has started out the season with a bang, scoring victories of 35-6 over Crivitz and 42-7 over Two Rivers. Algoma has struggled, dropping decisions of 28-21 to Chilton and 35-0 at Manitowoc Lutheran.

Also in high school football Friday, Luxemburg-Casco hosts Little Chute in the North Eastern Conference.
