The environmental activist group Kewaunee CARES (Citizens Advocating Responsible Environmental Stewardship) invites the public to a presentation Thursday evening regarding bacteria found in Kewaunee County rivers and waterways.

“Scientists from a world renowned University will present new data confirming impairment of surface water in Kewaunee County,” said organization spokesman William Iwen in an email. “In addition, they will introduce the problem of antibiotic resistance in environmental bacteria and how this could impact human health.”

The presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Algoma Elementary School auditorium, 514 Fremont St., Algoma.
