Road conditions turned treacherous for the Friday evening commute as a mix of drizzle, freezing drizzle and snow fell over Northeast Wisconsin.

Police and rescue units were dispatched to numerous reports of vehicles in the ditch and even flipped on roadways.

The precipitation is expected to turn to all snow later this evening across eastern Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday. Hazardous travel is expected through tonight. The combination of snow and blustery north to northwest winds will create some blowing and drifting of the snow.
