Parents with special needs children face many challenges. A six-week workshop starts next week to focus on reducing stress, improving family communication, managing emotions and locating helpful resources.
The workshop for parents, “Powerful Tools for Caregivers,” is being offered on Thursdays, Feb. 7 through March 14, from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg, and presented by Renee Koenig from the Kewaunee County office of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, in conjunction with the ADRC of the Lakeshore.
The training is designed for parents, teachers, grandparents, guardians, friends or relatives providing care or support of children with special health needs.
A light meal and snacks provided. A $10 donation is suggested to cover the cost of the workbook.
RSVP by Friday (Feb. 1) to Koenig at 920-388-7137 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
