The Aging & Disability Resource Center of the Lakeshore, along with St. John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg, is offering “Living Well with Chronic Conditions,” a six-week workshop to be held 5:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays from April 15 to May 20.
Attendance at all 6 sessions is highly encouraged, as each session builds upon previous skills acquired. Pre-registration is required.
According to the ADRC news release:
If you are living with a chronic condition such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, depression or anxiety, or have had a stroke and are dealing with residual effects, the Living Well workshop can help! You’ll find support and practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, improve upon your nutrition and exercise choices, and even learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health. You’ll get the support you need from others who are traveling the same journey, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health.
The Living Well workshop is designed for adults with ongoing chronic health conditions. During these educational meetings you will gain new skills to manage your health while setting goals for yourself that will improve your health – and your life. This is a workshop about YOU and doing the things YOU want to do. Don’t let your health condition keep you from doing the things you enjoy. This class will allow you to feel better, take control of your life and do the things you want to do, even though you are living with a chronic condition.
A suggested donation of $10 is collected at the first class, to help defray the cost of the textbook provided.
