The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting residents to drop off new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s Big Bundle Up campaign. The Big Bundle Up is a statewide collection program that started Monday (Oct. 28) and runs through Nov. 25.

This is the ninth year of the Big Bundle Up. To date, the program has collected 155,893 warm winter items to help families in need. In addition to The Algoma Chamber, other collection sites, including Travel Wisconsin Welcome Centers, are located throughout the state. Visit for a full listing of donation sites.

A box will be located at the Algoma Chamber, 1226 Lake St., Algoma, for donors to drop off warm clothing items. All items donated at this location will be given to area local schools for families in need.

The Chamber office is open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. For more information, contact Kay Smith, executive director.
