Algoma City Hall has been reopened to the public, City Administrator Jared Heyn said in his monthly report to the City Council.
“We have not noticed an increase to in-office traffic,” Heyn said. “Other facilities remain closed for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis. We do not have the staff nor materials to properly sanitize these other common facilities according to CDC guidelines.”
Algoma committees and commissions will resume holding meetings in June, per the direction of the Finance and Personnel Committee on May 20, Heyn said.
“We continue to encourage the use of Zoom (videoconference technology) from our committee and commission members,” he said. “This will help us continue to practice proper social distancing.”
