The City of Algoma has been chosen by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism as one of two cities to receive a Tourism Assessment in 2020, beginning with an online survey of residents and potential visitors.
The survey at the Algoma Area Chamber’s website asks about the community’s strengths and weaknesses as a tourism destination, its most attractive features and its challenges.
A Tourism Assessment is a specialized program created in partnership with the Department of Tourism and a destination marketing organization or other independent nonprofit organization and led by a regional tourism specialist. The goal is to take stock of what a community is doing well, what needs shoring up, and what’s missing.
