An end-of-semester review of efforts to reduce the achievement gap is among the items for the Algoma School Board on Monday night.
The board meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in the TV Room at the school district, 1715 Division St., Algoma.
The state’s Achievement Gap Reduction (AGR) Program, established in the 2015-16 school year, requires a participating school to create performance objectives, including reducing the achievement gap between low-income students in that school and students in the same grade and subject statewide.
The board will get an update on plans for an open house to let the public see the results of the renovation project at Algoma Elementary School. The upgrades include a new commons area, music and band room, and library. The open house is scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 8.
Action items include approval of the combined employee handbook and for a shared virtual learning services contract with Rural Virtual Academy for the 2017-18 school year.
