The Algoma Sunday Farmer’s Market is scheduled to return for a third season on June 23.
Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce shares this news release:
Visitors to Algoma on Sundays can enjoy the return of the Algoma Sunday Farmer’s Market, sponsored by the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce. The Market will be held at Legion Park, 620 Lake Street, every Sunday June 23-Oct. 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Vendors with all types of wares including vegetables, crafts, maple syrup, meats, essential oils, and more, will be represented. Among the committee vendors: Wery’s Hog Farm meats, Golden Age Massage custom essential blends, Cultivate Taste teas, Folkvangr Farms microgreens, Beadle Bop & Company breads, pies and other baked goods, and They’s Orchard. Specialty vendors like Tapuat Kombucha and Two Spoiled Danes Bakery dog treats will be dropping in occasionally.
The Algoma Sunday Farmer’s Market is entering its third season, after enjoying great success moving to Legion Park. Chamber Director Sara Krouse cites “the great view of Crescent Beach, the lush park lawn, visibility from state highway traffic and easy parking around the park” as factors to its success. Market managers, Kristen Knudtson and Casey Buhr, of Folkvangr Farms, “have done a lot of hard work to ensure the ambience of the market is welcoming and the vendor variety has grown.”
On Shanty Days weekend, the Market will share a location with the Shanty Days Arts and Crafts Fair, Sunday, Aug. 11. Vendors will be selling during normal market hours. A rain location for all markets is currently being worked on.
Information on the market and vendor updates are posted on the @AlgomaSundayFarmersMarket Facebook page. Potential vendors are encouraged to call market managers Kristen Knudtson and Casey Buhr at 920-319-3655 or visit www.algoma.org/market for the application.
