Never heard of Pickleball? It’s a fun paddle sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It’s easy to learn, and suitable for all ages and skill levels.
Kewaunee Health & Fitness, 160 Terraqua Drive, Kewaunee, has announced an introductory session of “Pickleball 101” that is scheduled to run three times per week from in October through Nov. 11.
Weekly drop-in sessions will be held 1-3 p.m. Mondays, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturdays.
Pickleball Ambassadors Marti Pfutzenreuter and/or Mary Alexis Pfutzenreuter will be on hand each session to provide brief instruction and help facilitate play. All participants will have an opportunity to learn and play during each session. Come to as many sessions as you like; no signups required.
Paddles and balls will be provided (but feel free to bring your own paddle if you like!). Wear appropriate gym/workout clothing, including tennis/court/gym shoes. Pickleball can be as active as you want to make it.
Sessions are free to members and $5 per session for nonmembers (includes day pass for full access to all KHF facilities). Note: nonmembers who wish to participate in Monday or Saturday sessions must purchase a punch card to obtain access during non-staffed hours. Cards can be purchased during staffed hours.
