Aerica Bjurstrom, Kewaunee County University of Wisconsin-Extension agriculture agent, won two awards at the recent Wisconsin Association of County Agricultural Agents (WACAA) annual banquet in Wisconsin Dells.
Bjurstrom received the WACAA Search for Excellence in Livestock Production for her work developing and implementing a dairy hoof health extension education program through a joint research and publication effort with colleagues in northeast Wisconsin.
She also was recognized with a communication award for her website design.
An affiliate of the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) WACAA is a professional organization for county, area and state Extension professionals to encourage excellence and professionalism in their work; improve effectiveness of Wisconsin Extension programs; provide assistance for agents to seek and participate in professional improvement opportunities, and recognize and promote superior achievement.
In addition to Hoard’s Dairyman, WACAA awards are also sponsored by the Wisconsin Agriculturist; the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association; the Country Today, and A&T Industries.
