IOWA CITY, Iowa — Brynn Holzwarth of Luxemburg was one of about 150 University of Iowa students to perform in the UI School of Music’s annual Choral Collage staged late last month inside the Voxman Music Building.

Holzwarth performed as a Alto 2 in the Women’s Chorale, a select chorus of 40 women, that presents three to four concerts per year. They join the University Symphony Orchestra for two concerts. As with other ensembles, it is open to women from all parts of the University.

SAINT PAUL, Minnesota — Anna Schultz of Kewaunee is one of 549 first-year students who began attending Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, in the Fall 2019 semester.

Schultz is part of one of the largest first-year classes to attend Hamline.

GALESBURG, Illinois — Kaitlyn Hrivnak of Kewaunee performed in the Knox College Choir’s first concert of the academic year on Nov. 3.

The Knox College Choir is the premier choral ensemble of the College. The choir, under the direction of professor of music and director of choral activities Laura Lane, performed a unique selection of music in various styles, from Renaissance to Romantic.

Hrivnak is a member of Knox College’s class of 2021.

PLATTEVILLE — Logan Shefchik of Luxemburg was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Shefchik was initiated at University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
