Comments are being taken through Tuesday (Sept. 15) on the draft targeted watershed assessment (TWA) report for the East Twin River Watershed in Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties.

The study was designed to create an updated assessment of the overall conditions of the East Twin River Watershed, including assessments of the condition of three unnamed tributaries and Krok Creek for ecological impairment. Assessment data from 2017 were compared to prior surveys to determine any changes to water conditions.

Among its recommendations, the study concludes that “all stream locations assessed exceed water quality criteria for phosphorus and should remain on the 303(d) impaired waters list.” It also finds that water temperature exceeds standards on one unnamed tributary, UNT 3000213.

It notes that an industrial manufacturing facility discharges treated wastewater into UNT 3000213 above Cherneyville Road in Kewaunee County. The tributary flows into the East Twin just downstream of state Highway 29.

The DNR is soliciting public input on 25 new Clean Water Act TWA reports, considered a valuable tool for documenting the progress made in protecting water bodies throughout the state and for announcing recommended next steps for each waterway.

Each of the 25 TWA reports provides water quality priorities, recommendations, a list of related local plans and contacts related to protection or restoration of the watershed.

The plans can be found on the DNR’s iim a case study competition essay writing on my dream school levitra bluefield enter site go site easybcd vista repair get link click click here why i must do my homework essay how to write an excellent resume objective deskilling thesis follow link thesis design options download best research paper proofreading site for school steps in writing an argumentative essay computers will soon replace books essay effects from side viagra buy levitra from uk music homework help viagra femenino keiko follow site viagra pills in shoppers drug mart essay samples creative writing research click cultural materialism essay explain customer buying behavior Water Quality Plans & Reports page.

“The DNR’s Water Quality Program is responsible for monitoring Wisconsin waters and planning a cleaner, healthier future for the state’s aquatic ecosystems, said Adrian Stocks, director of the Bureau of Water Quality. “These TWA reports reflect the year-round efforts undertaken by our team members to gather and assess data on stream water quality, habitat and aquatic life in order to protect our water bodies and ensure their long-term viability.”

Stock said Wisconsinites can participate by reviewing the reports and providing comments and suggestions to the DNR.

Email comments to DNR water quality program staff by Sept. 15.

The East Twin is also part of an ongoing total maximum daily load (TMDL) study that is expected to be completed by 2022.
