Kewaunee County has experienced a rise in positive tests for coronavirus over the past two weeks, with 11 positive tests during the last full week of June and eight more cases reported from Sunday (June 28) through Thursday (July 2).

The state Department of Health Services reports a total of 60 cases in Kewaunee County since mid-March. The county Public Health Department has counted 59 cases and said only nine cases are currently active – 49 patients have recovered, and one person – an 87-year-old man – has died.

County offices reopened to the public on June 8, and most businesses continue to take precautions against infection as the country attempts to emerge from business and school shutdowns ordered by state and local officials reacting to federal guidelines.
