The Comet’s Patreon patrons may have noticed that I didn’t take their money three of the last four months.

I appreciate their help more than you know, but the number of patrons has never been enough to allow me to keep the Comet going without the support of a day job. And in recent weeks my responsibilities have increased at the day job, making it harder to monitor Kewaunee County news on a consistent basis.

Simply put, I haven’t been able to devote the necessary time in recent months, and it shows in the quantity and quality of output. And so I’m going to continue the “pause” in patron collections indefinitely.

I will keep the website and the Facebook page and the emails going as much as I can, but I’ve been worried that my paying sponsors haven’t been getting their investment’s worth lately, and the only way I can stop worrying is to stop taking investments for the time being.

This is not the end of the Kewaunee County Comet, just a strategic retreat to review and reset everyone’s expectations, including my own. I welcome your suggestions and any ideas that would help this project grow and thrive.
