Nala is making her first appearance at Algoma’s Book Corner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (May 25), for kids who like to read to a furry friend.

Nala is a 10-year-old golden retriever and a certified service dog. Although she usually helps individuals with physical disabilities perform daily tasks, Nala also loves to listen to young people read!

Children who read a story to Nala at the Book Corner, 401 Third St., can earn a free children’s book. Nala intends to return to the Book Corner later this summer, and is proud to be joining the bookstore’s volunteer staff.

The Book Corner is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and run entirely by volunteers with Friends of the Algoma Public Library. All proceeds collected from the sale of books go directly to the library.
