Four Luxemburg area teenagers were under investigation in an incident that began Monday afternoon when a man reported a gunshot that sent a bullet past him as he worked on his roof.

Kewaunee County Sheriff Matt Joski issued a press release about the matter:

On Monday, Sept. 2, at approximately 3:25 p.m., the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a male party who stated he was working on his roof when he heard a gunshot and a bullet “whiz” past him. The complaint was able to get a description of a vehicle in the area of the gunshot. The complainant then got down from the roof and was able to locate the vehicle and get a license plate.

Officers from our agency along with the Luxemburg Police Department were able to locate the vehicle. Subsequent interviews and a search of the vehicle involved lead to the identification of four individuals who were in the vehicle. The individuals were four juvenile males from the Luxemburg area between the ages of 15 and 16.

The juveniles were found to be drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana at the time of the incident. They admitted to shooting at several street signs in the area as well as in Brown County. They also shot at and struck a local business.

Charges will be referred on the four juveniles involved; however, the incident remains under investigation by our agency.
