The Zoological Society of Kewaunee County is looking for soup makers for its seventh annual ZoupArt fundraiser to benefit the Bruemmer Park Zoo.
Students from each Kewaunee County school display art as part of a juried art show. Handmade and handpainted bowls made by the students will be sold to allow attendees to taste each of the soups and vote for the best.
At stake are recognition in two categories: Best Restaurant Soup and Best Home-Cooked Soup.
This year’s event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds, 625 Third St., Luxemburg.
Soup makers should be set up by 10:30 a.m. and stay until 2 p.m. or until their soup is gone. They need to bring five gallons of their best soup, including a warmer, ladle, extension cord, and someone to serve it. Decorations for the serving table are optional but encouraged.
To register for the event, complete the registration form at www.bruemmerparkzoo.com and return it to ZSKC. Registration should be completed no later than Feb. 1 to allow printing time for ballots and certificates.
