The Kewaunee County Land & Water Committee holds a public hearing Tuesday morning on the updated 20-year county comprehensive plan. The hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in Conference Room 131 of the Land and Water Conservation Department office, 625 Third St., Luxemburg.
The 101-page comprehensive plan is a legal document intended to provide guidance for local and county officials when making land-use decisions. The new document is an update from the plan drafted in 2007 and also incorporates the Kewaunee County Farmland Preservation Plan update.
The plan update can be accessed online through the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission site at this link.
After the hearing the committee will convene its regular meeting. The agenda includes a resolution to forward to the County Board adopting the comprehensive plan update.
The meeting is one of six committee meetings being held in advance of the Tuesday, Dec. 20, meeting of the full County Board.
The Board of Health meets at noon Monday; the Law & Emergency Management Committee at 11 a.m. Tuesday; the Promotions and Recreation Committee at 5 p.m. Tuesday; the Highway and Solid Waste Committee at 8:45 a.m. Thursday; and the Human Services Board at 9 a.m. Thursday.
+ The Kewaunee City Council is expected to pass its 2017 city budget when aldermen gather at 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 401 Fifth St., Kewaunee.
At the close of its regular meeting the council plans a closed session to interview for the clerk/treasurer position. The agenda calls for the council to reconvene in open session to take one of three actions: hire a clerk/treasurer, vote to continue the search, or hire an interim clerk/treasurer.
+ The Casco Village Board is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Village Hall.
