The second weekly presentation in the Kewaunee County Historical Society History Series focuses on the Native American roots of the county.

The History Series, 1 p.m. Saturdays for four weeks, features an hourlong presentation followed by a light social and refreshments at the society’s History Center, 217 Ellis St., Kewaunee.

On Saturday (Feb. 15), David Lea will present a program about the history and culture of the Potawatomi Indian Nation, which spread across what is now Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties, with a special focus on Simon Kahquados, the last Potawatomi chief of Kewaunee County.

Attendance to the KCHS Annual History Series is free of charge.
