Kewaunee County authorities have charged a Green Bay man with providing the drug that killed a town of Franklin woman last June.
A criminal complaint and arrest warrant filed Feb. 5 in Kewaunee County Circuit Court charges Adam J. Mancheski, 30, with first-degree reckless homicide in connection with the death of Nicole E. Havlovitz, 25, whose body was found in her home June 13.
According to the complaint, Havlovitz and Mancheski exchanged a series of texts via Facebook Messenger that appear to show she negotiated the purchase of heroin from Mancheski the night before her death. Authorities also listened to a recorded jailhouse telephone conversation in which Mancheski’s mother informed him of Havlovitz’s death and he replied, “Oh my God, Mom, I just killed somebody,” the complaint said.
An autopsy found several drugs in Havlovitz’s system, but the pathologist concluded, “The Fentanyl level in the blood is high enough to have caused death without any of the other drugs,” according to the complaint.
The case is scheduled for a bail/bond hearing at 10 a.m. March 26.
