Isabella Haen, the 2018 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs, is the scheduled keynote speaker at the annual June Dairy Month Kickoff Breakfast sponsored by Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion.
The breakfast is scheduled for 6:30-8 a.m. June 7 at The Rendezvous, E896 County Road N in Neurn south of Luxemburg.
Haen, the 2017 Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair, was selected Jan. 10 as this year’s ambassador for the Wisconsin Association of Fairs. The Fairest of the Fairs travels throughout Wisconsin promoting the educational, agricultural, social, cultural and commercial opportunities available at the state’s various fairs, as well as serving as hostess of the Wisconsin State Fair.
The kickoff event will begin with a breakfast buffet of scrambled eggs and cheese, sausage, bacon, fruit, and more.
The program starts around 7 a.m. with the introduction of 2018 Breakfast on the Farm hosts, the Knorn Family of Junion Homestead Farm. This year they are celebrating their family farm’s 150th anniversary by hosting the event on Father’s Day.
Haen, a native of Luxemburg, plans to share her journey as an “agvocate” and her mission to inspire youth.
The Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion Committee also honors a volunteer of the year during the kickoff breakfast.
Tickets are $9 and available at Dairyland Veterinary Services, Ebert Enterprises, Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy, both Rio Creek Feed Mill locations, and at the door.
