An ordinance amendment requiring all septic systems installed before 1985 to have a soil evaluation completed goes to the Kewaunee County Board for a second reading Tuesday night.
The ordinance requires owners of the aging systems to submit a soil evaluation report to the county no later than Oct. 1, 2021. Deteriorating septic systems have been identified as among the factors in groundwater contamination problems in Kewaunee County.
Among other items on the board’s regular meeting Tuesday is a resolution approving the county’s $6,500 share of planned work on the Bay Road Bridge in the town of Ahnapee.
The County Board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Kewaunee County Administration Center, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee. The board did not meet in July, and its next meeting is scheduled Sept. 19.
