Two cheesemakers associated with Agropur in Luxemburg earned awards for their provolone this week at the 2019 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest being staged at Lambeau Field.
Pat Doell earned a Best of Class award for his mild provolone and a Third Award in the category of reduced sodium provolone.
Roger Krohn earned a Second Award in both categories.
Ponderosa Dairy Products of Kewaunee picked up a Best of Class in the flavored string cheese category, for its Fiesta String Cheese.
The grand champion of the event was a Baby Swiss Wheel produced by Guggisberg Cheese of Millersburg, Ohio. Second and Third Runner-up awards were given for gouda cheeses created by Marieke Gouda of Thorp, Wisconsin.
