The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has hired James Moore to serve as conservation warden for Kewaunee County.

It has been several years since a DNR warden was specifically assigned to the county, and County Board Chairman Robert Weidner has said for several months that DNR officials assured him a warden would be hired by December.

Moore has been with the DNR for a number of years, most recently as a warden with La Crosse-based District 8.

He’ll be based at the DNR’s Green Bay Service Center.
