The Democratic Party of Kewaunee County announced Tuesday that gubernatorial candidate Tony Evers is the scheduled guest of honor at a public rally in Algoma on Oct. 27.

The public is invited to meet Evers, the state superintendent of public instruction, at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Kewaunee County Democratic office, 610 Fourth St., Algoma.

“Tony Evers recognizes the challenges faced by local family farmers, schools, workers, and the protection of our natural resources. He has incorporated workable solutions to share with us in his policy statements,” said Chairperson Mimi Dobbins, . “Farmers, outdoor enthusiasts, and all Kewaunee County residents who are concerned with attacks on ethical government will want to hear what Tony Evers has to say.”

Evers is currently serving his third four-year term as head of the state Department of Public Instruction and is challenging Republican Gov. Scott Walker in the Nov. 6 election.
