The manager of the Kewaunee County Food Pantry wants people to know they’re open, ready and willing to help.
“We have had a number of calls asking about whether or not we are open,” Ken Marquardt said in a visitor post to the Kewaunee County Comet. “The Kewaunee County Food Pantry IS OPEN to serve needy families who live in Kewaunee county.”
The pantry at 1528 Sunset Ave., Algoma, is open 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. It also opens from 5 to 6 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month for families who cannot come during the daytime.
“Our process has changed, and until the restraints have been lifted we are simply setting out boxes of food on a table outside of our door rather than letting families come into the pantry and select their own food items,” Marquardt said.
