One of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Kewaunee County Food Pantry in Algoma – the huge, three-day Spring Rummage and Bake Sale – opens Thursday.

Thousands of items will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the pantry, 1528 Sunset Ave. The pile of stuff includes items from three estates.

The food pantry has posted two dozen photos on Craigslist of the building packed to the gills and waiting for shoppers, and there are still two days of setup.

The mission of the Kewaunee County Food Pantry is to help low-income families in Kewaunee County Wisconsin supplement their food budgets by providing food and other essential items from various sources, as well as to provide opportunities for self-sufficiency through making available a community garden program in Algoma for county residents.

In addition to its spring rummage/bake sale and Fall Harvest Fest, the pantry also maintains a thrift shop on site that sells donated furniture and appliances year-round from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.
