An investment into broadband internet access is expected to be part of the next Kewaunee County budget. But, before a financial figure is allocated for 2019, the county wants to hear from residents through Polco, an online public survey system used by Kewaunee County to gather input on local issues.

“We have $40,000 in the form of a Broadband Expansion Grant, but we need to invest much more to make a noticeable difference for residents and business owners who want and need high-speed internet access,” County Administrator Scott Feldt said in a news release. “The public needs to tell us what they think Kewaunee County should commit to broadband for an internet connection that meets industry standards.”

Kewaunee County’s latest multiple-choice question on Polco asks if the county should invest money into broadband internet access, and if so how much. The choices are less than $500,000; $500,000 to $1 million; $1 million or greater; or none.
