A downtown Kewaunee landmark is changing hands.

The new owners of the Kunkel’s Korner restaurant, 301 Ellis St., posted the announcement on Facebook this week:

Good afternoon, Kewaunee, We would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to the Kewaunee residents and surrounding Kunkels Korner customers. We are the new owners, Angela and Seth Hoeffner. We currently own Clubhouse Family Restaurant in Mishicot as well. When we saw this restaurant was closing, I looked at Angela and I said, “We can’t let this happen!” We made arrangements with the previous owners and things went smooth and quick! Now here we are! Looking forward to serving this awesome community! At this point, we are a few short days away from opening. We will try and continue the hours that the restaurant was open previously, with many great specials, homemade soups and yummy desserts. We make all our own hash browns and American fries along with our fresh hand-pattied burgers. We will post a picture of our menu very shortly and we are open to suggestions of all of your favorite food if we missed any. We are open to your feedback. We are looking at opening one day next week as soon as we finalize a few things we then will be ready. Stay tuned for updates! Just wanted to update everyone where we are at at this time. We know what these small towns are like and everyone is curious! Things are progressing fast and we are looking forward to meeting everyone. We hope you all enjoy! Thank you again, Mark and Stacey for helping with this transition!
