The new Luxemburg-Casco High School gymnasium and multi-purpose addition will be dedicated at 3 p.m. Jan. 26, the district has announced.
Tours and team activities in the new facility, which was part of a building project approved in an April 2018 referendum, are planned after the ceremony from approximately 3:30 to 6 p.m. An inclement weather date of 6 p.m. Jan. 29 was also set.
Construction began in the fall of 2018 after voters approved funding of up to $15.9 million for building additions, remodels and other improvements at the Primary, Intermediate and High School (which includes a three-station gymnasium).
Also underway is construction of a new $11.9 million middle school at the south end of the high school, which will accommodate relocating seventh- and eighth-grade classes from the existing Casco Middle School. The old building is to become an alternative high school.
The timeline calls for the middle school to be ready for use in time for the 2020-21 academic year.
