The Luxemburg Speedway plans to open its stock-car racing season on Friday night, May 4.
Ticket specials are being promoted, and a practice session is planned this Saturday afternoon.
Practice will include all dirt cars and will run 1-4 p.m. Pits open at 12 noon, and grandstand admission is free. (Pit fees are $20/Drivers, $10/crew.)
The season opener features Joe Verdegan, a local author and race personality who will be signing his new book, “The Past Lane: The Next Generation.”
Racing starts at 7 p.m. on Friday nights. Pits open at 4:15 p.m. and the grandstand at 5 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 adults, seniors (55 and up) $10, teens 13-17 $8, and 12 and under free.
Race classes on May 4 are Jerovetez Motorsports Shock Service Modifieds, Quietwoods RV Stock Cars, Busch Light Sport Modifieds, Showcase Kitchens Street Stocks, and Sport Compacts.
Season grandstand passes are also available at $100 for adults, $90 for seniors and $80 for teens, a $44 savings over 12 races.
People who show the cashier they checked in on the Speedway’s Facebook page can save $1 off admission. Also the track will be handing out wristbands to patrons weekly, and customers who bring their wrist band from the previous week will save another $1.
