Press release

Kewaunee County is calling on all race fans in a quest to find a new promoter or team of promoters for Luxemburg Speedway since a three-year run by its most recent duo has come to an end.

The Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department, which handles business at the dirt track, has put out a request for proposal (RFP). It can be found online at

Fans say that there is a lot of history at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds track, recalling races running back in the 1950s. Dave Myers, director of the Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department, believes that Luxemburg Speedway still has a ton of potential.

“We do not want this to be the end; we had some great guys who put a lot of work into the track over the last three years,” Myers said. “We’re open to new ideas, and we’re hopeful that someone is looking at this promotional opening as an opportunity.”

According to numbers provided to Kewaunee County by Luxemburg Speedway promoters from 2016-18, there were an average of 125 cars on the track and 1,250 fans in attendance for races that weren’t canceled due to inclement weather.

If you’re interested in becoming the next promoter or know someone who might be a perfect fit for the track, contact the Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department office at (920) 388-0444, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
