Law enforcment personnel in Kewaunee County may begin to look a bit more furry in coming weeks.
Starting Sept. 16 members of the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, City of Kewaunee Police Department and City of Algoma Police Department have been involved in a beard growing competition. Officers choosing to participate paid an entry fee and agreed to be clean-shaven on Sept. 16.
During the week of Nov. 13, the judging will begin. The departmens’ clerical staff will observe the participants and determine who the winner is. The winner will then take the entry fees collected and make a donation to the charity of their choice.
