The city’s press release:

The City of Kewaunee sought and received a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Administration Wisconsin Coastal Management Program. The purpose of these funds was to continue the planning efforts for the Harbor and Downtown Areas.

The City of Kewaunee Harbor Master Plan Taskforce has been working to pick up where the City of Kewaunee Waterfront Plan left off and continue the planning for the Harbor and Downtown Areas. The Harbor Master Plan provides further planning for the City Campground, the Public Beach/City Park, and the Ahnapee/River Landing sites. The Plan also provides a basis for how the City can connect or tie the harbor front sites together, building a more cohesive Harbor and Downtown Area.

In May 2019, the Harbor Master Plan Taskforce held two public input sessions and administered a survey to residents and visitors. The feedback that was obtained via the input sessions and survey was used to guide the development of the charrettes. There is already a strong interest by various groups and individuals to champion some of the projects identified through this process.

The draft Harbor Master Plan is now available for public review and input. The Plan can be found on the City’s website at www.cityofkewaunee.org

Residents are encouraged to read the draft Harbor Master Plan and submit their feedback to Autumn, Community and Economic Development Planner and Grant Writer, at alinsmeier@cityofkewaunee.org or at 920-388-5000.
