The co-author of a book chronicling rural life in Northeast Wisconsin is the scheduled guest speaker for the 2019 Rural Life Day celebration April 4 at St. Louis Parish, N8726 County Line Road in Dyckesville.

The celebration of rural living and its blessings begins with a 10:30 a.m. Mass celebrated by Green Bay Bishop David L. Ricken, who will bless seeds, soils, animals and equipment that will be used in the upcoming growing season.

A luncheon in the Parish Hall follows the Mass, followed by guest speaker Leon Janssen, who wrote Machine Shed Memories: A Chronicle of Rural Life in Wisconsin with Gene Medford.
