U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher (pictured) is hosting a Save the Bay meeting that starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Rendezvous, E896 County Road N, Neuern south of Luxemburg.

“They’re going to be touring a number of farms talking about manure composting, no-till cover crops, equipment, methane digester,tile-line nutrient recovery system,” Supervisor Chuck Wagner said. “Then they’re going down to Greenleaf for the second half 12:30-2:15 p.m. – that discussion’s on the Lower Fox.”

Registrations were due Friday for the event.

Save the Bay is a clean water initiative begun by former U.S. Rep. Reid Ribble, whom Gallagher succeeded in January 2017.

On his website, Gallagher describes the effort as “a collaborative initiative in which the agricultural community along with academic, industry, government and nonprofit leaders from across the 8th District identify, share and promote conservation practices to reduce the harmful substances flowing into the waters of Green Bay and Lake Michigan.”
