The newly built addition to Scenic Shore Inn in Algoma has been open for guests since Shanty Days weekend, Aug. 9.

The public is invited to the hotel at 2221 Lake St. for an open house and ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. Sept. 13, which will feature the newly constructed addition that includes eight guestrooms, two kitchenettes, conference room, gathering space, workout room, indoor swimming pool, sauna and scenic deck. Tours and refreshments will be available 2-6 p.m.

Scenic Shore is locally owned and operated by Bob Davis, Laurie and Kristina Griffin, who say they focus on providing “convenience, comfort, and the lakeshore” to their guests.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held in March by general contractor Bayland Buildings Inc. of Green Bay, and construction started shortly after that.

Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce Director Sara Krouse said she “hopes that the residents of Algoma and curious travelers in the area come to celebrate and congratulate Bob, Laurie and Kristina on their investment. It is a beautiful space and a real asset for our growing tourism industry in Algoma.”
