St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School, 1115 Division St., Algoma, is opening a new Early Childhood Center at their school campus in time for the start of the 2018-19 school year.

The school has been going through a renovation process this summer, which also includes new administration offices and an early childhood playground, designed for children aged 5 and younger. (An artist’s rendering of the expansion is shown above.)

The renovations and additional playground equipment are in response to tremendous growth in the Early Childhood program at St. Paul’s, led by Bethany Waldschmidt, early childhood director.

“What a blessing it is to create a safe learning environment that fosters the needs of our little explorers,” Waldschmidt said in the news release announcing the new center. “St. Paul’s welcomes the community to not only use our Early Childhood program, but our new playground as well.”

St. Paul’s is inviting the community for the official opening of the Center at the annual church picnic on Sunday, August 26. The picnic will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a ribbon cutting at noon.
