A gale watch is in effect through 7 p.m. Wednesday (June 10) for Kewaunee County and much of Northeast Wisconsin. Southeast winds of 15-25 knots up to 35 knots and waves 6 to 9 feet are possible.
Strong winds can cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. It’s recommended that vessels remain in port and be secured against severe winds and waves.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Cristobal are expected to produce several hours of heavy rain, isolated thunderstorms, and gusty winds the area Tuesday night through Wednesday. Gusty winds and large waves could produce local lakeshore flooding on the western shoreline along the Bay of Green Bay and along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Dangerous swimming conditions are likely.
